Geographical situation

The area North-Pas-de-Calais is the septentrional area of France, bordering on Belgium.

It consists of 2 departments:

- North with Lille like prefecture

- Pas-de-Calais with Arras

This city presents marked places
by Flemish architecture.

The area presents differents faces

Near to the sea you will find cliffs (Cape Blanc Nose and Cape Gris Nose), many sand beaches or rollers, small artisanal fishing ports (Wissant, Ambleteuse, Equihen, Etaples... as well as seaside resorts (Wimereux, Portel, Hardelot...).

You will be able to thus benefit from all the joys which bring the sea: bathe, fishing with foot (shrimps, moulds, winkles...), fish at sea, excursions on the customs paths, water sports (tank with veil, surfing, sailing boat...).

In Boulogne, you will be able to continue your discovery of the sea in the oceanographical Center Nausicaà , presenting many specimens marine energy of fish fished on our coasts at exotic fish of the coral reefs...

In Etaples, the Center Mareis presents as for him life of the fishing sailors

While moving away you to the east in the interior of the grounds, you will find the back-country bolted with its scrap-metals and its forests. Since, a few years, the breeding of horses bolted (draught horses being useful formerly in agriculture as to transport fish of Boulogne towards the Markets of Paris) develops again to avoid the extinction of this race.

Further, around St-Omer and of its Cathedral, you will be able to rent a boat to circulate in the marshes audomarois, between the differents cultures maraicheres and to discover the natural reserve of Romelare.
