North-Pas-de-Calais is a ground rich in traditions and festivals: - Annual stock sale of Lille which accomodates each year, at the beginning of September, several million visitors (of which many foreign tourists) - the Carnival of Dunkirk with its famous uproars - processions of Giants in many cities of the area - the tradition pigeon fancier....

But to limit our culture to the patois and the traditions would be reducing. North-Pas-de-Calais is also the area of the National Orchestra of Lille, of the Festival of the Coast of Opal, many theatrical scenes. It is also the area of the major cultural event of this year, namely Lille 2004. |
